Maternal Opioid use Disorder Management and Care Resources (MOMCARE) in Custody
MOMCARE is an implementation resource focused on providing guidance and support for jails to promote evidence-based, patient-centered care for pregnant and postpartum people with opioid use disorder who are in and leaving jails.
Our mission is to ensure pregnant and postpartum people in custody with opioid use disorder (OUD) have the best outcomes possible including reducing chances of overdose and promoting parenting and safe newborn outcomes. We create and curate resources for people who work in or have leadership roles in jails to help them provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for pregnant and postpartum people with OUD. We hope that this implementation resource will help facilitate increased medications for OUD (MOUD) access, uptake, and continuity of care for pregnant and postpartum people in and leaving jail.
