Through advocacy, research, and direct engagement with policymakers, ARRWIP is advancing the reproductive rights and health of incarcerated individuals. Dr. Carolyn Sufrin’s testimony before the U.S. Senate brought national attention to the systemic neglect, human rights violations, and mistreatment experienced by pregnant people behind bars. ARRWIP’s work has been cited extensively, including in a 2025 Government Accountability Office report on pregnancy care in state prisons and local jails. Our work continues to drive hope and action forward, expanding dignity, respect, and access to care for incarcerated communities.
